ICOM IC-M710 -
Marine SSB Radio
Icom's next generation commercial grade
SSB. Click on the small image to get a large picture of the IC-M710.
Voted 2000's Best SSB Radiotelephone by the NMEA, the National Marine
Electronics Association.
ICOM IC-M710
Specifications:
The latest in Icom SSB technology and
construction 150 watts of power, 100% duty cycle All modes, including
RTTY E-mail ready for SeaWave. Optional filter required for Globe
Wireless. Monitor all 976 ITU voice and data channels, HAM bands and
aircraft Wx 1136 channels
ICOM IC-M710
Transmit: 1.6 MHz - 27.5 MHz marine channels and all HF HAM
bands* 160 user programmable memory channels, each identified by either
alpha characters, channel number or frequency 2182 kHz alarm (optional)
Multiple scanning modes Rugged metal chassis Direct keypad entry
Large backlit alphanumeric LCD display with selectable lighting levels
Large tactile knobs Automatic antenna tuner (option AT-130) Very
affordable! About half the price of other SSB's 2 year warranty
ICOM IC-M710 Note:
The IC-M710 was once sold in 2 versions. One
version included ham radio transmit and a 2182 kHz alarm, and the other version
did not. As of July 2002, there is only one version of the IC-M710 available --
it includes ham radio transmit (proper amateur radio license required for use),
and the 2182 kHz alarm is now available as an option.
*Appropriate HAM
license required to transmit on amateur radio frequencies.

Marine Transceiver |
| Simple, dependable worldwide communications at an affordable
price.
ICOM IC-M710 - 1136 channels 160
user-programmable, 242 ITU SSB duplex, 72 ITU SSB simplex and 662 ITU FSK
duplex channels are available.
ICOM IC-M710 - Rugged construction The highest
quality components are used throughout. Constructed in a die-cast aluminum
chassis with surface mount components, the IC-M710 is designed for long hours
of operation in the harsh marine environment.
ICOM IC-M710 - Alphanumeric readout The large,
easy-to-read display shows status at a glance. Seven characters can be
programmed into each memory channel to conveniently display station manes, ship
names, etc.
ICOM IC-M710 - 150 W of output power A full 150 W
(PEP) of output power is available for reliable long distance communication. A
large cooling fan, in combination with the aluminum chassis, allows continuous
transmission at full output power - even during demanding RTTY (radio teletype)
and NBDP (narrow band direct printing) operation.
ICOM IC-M710 - Automatic tuning function An
automatic tuning function is available when using the IC-M710 in combination
with the optional AT-130/E for quick and easy antenna tuning. Tuning is fully
automatic. When you push the PTT on a new frequency, the antenna tuner quickly
tunes the antenna automatically.
ICOM IC-M710 - Easy to use Two large memory and
frequency dials allow quick and easy operation.
ICOM IC-M710 - GMDSS versions available (not available in
the US) Versions which comply with GMDSS requirements are available
(not available in the US). With the addition of an IC-GM110 DSC terminal the
radio meets DSC class A requirements.
